The European Theatre Lab
The European Theatre Lab, a think tank for the theatre of the future, was officially launched at the Digital Innovation in Theatre conference, which took place in Karlsruhe, Germany, on 6 - 9 April 2017. The international conference aimed to investigate a broad spectrum of current issues related to the digitisation of theatre.
Seven European partner theatres, together with media artists and digital experts and scientists, are developing three creative projects, and experimenting with new forms of co-production. In a series of OpenLabs, the project partners are doing research in the fields of new technologies and aesthetics, audience participation and communication. The next OpenLabs will be held in Craiova, Romania, at the end of June 2017, and in Zagreb, Croatia, in September 2017.
Call for action: As a platform for discussion and exchange is always a good a place to start, the organisers invite you to get in touch and share your ideas and experiences in order to start building a Europe-wide community focusing on digitisation in theatre. Interaction and exchange are the main objectives of the European Theatre Lab, so your questions, comments, ideas, relevant links for ETC collection of resources or articles are highly appreciated.
