Careers at ASEF

The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) advances mutual understanding and collaboration between the people of Asia and Europe through intellectual, cultural, and people-topeople exchanges. These exchanges include conferences, lecture tours, workshops, seminars and the use of web-based platforms. The major achievement of ASEF is the establishment of permanent bi-regional networks focused on areas and issues that help to strengthen Asia-Europe relations.

ASEF seeks to engage motivated individuals for immediate start as Project Executive and Project Officer in the Cultural Exchange Department, as well as Project Manager of the Intellectual Exchange Department. The deadline for all applications is 1 April 2010.

ASEF's Cultural Exchange Department undertakes innovative programmes in cultural cooperation, sustaining various mechanisms for dialogue, the exchange of ideas, as well as sharing of information and best practices in the field of arts and culture. Programmes in this area allow peers from diverse backgrounds to explore creativity, art and artistic practices in different contexts, such as using the internet as a tool for co-operation and participating in workshops, seminars and conferences. The Intellectual Exchange department contributes to policy debates in the ASEM framework by providing a common platform for civil society actors and officials from government and multilateral institutions. It organises a variety of formats such as conferences, roundtables and lecture tours, depending on the nature of the policy issue. It operates in the thematic areas of Economy and Society, Education and Academic Co-operation, Environment and Sustainable Development, Human Rights and Governance, Interfaith Dialogue, and Public Health.

The Project Executive and Project Officer shall be engaged with the Culture360.org portal, the only multi-disciplinary arts and culture portal with the focus on Asia and Europe created for and fuelled by artists, cultural practitioners and policy makers. It serves as platform to inform, collaborate, interact and exchange ideas with the ASEM (the Asia-Europe Meeting) and the arts and culture communities across Asia and Europe.
