Media Artist/Educator at UCSD
University of California San Diego's Visual Arts Department seeks an artist/educator with expertise in digital video production and post production with a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate education. The job will be in a broadly interdisciplinary arts department that includes studio, computing, media, art and media history, theory and criticism. Additional background in digital photography or film is welcome. MFA or equivalency and teaching experience are required. The deadline for applications is 15 December 2006.
The position closely parallels a professorial tenure-track position and employment is scheduled to commence on 1 July 2007. Primary responsibilities are undergraduate teaching in classes both large and small, advising, administrative coordination and lab supervision of the Media Major. While research activity is encouraged and supported, evaluation and promotion within the department centers on the contribution to educational activities.
