CalArts Visiting Artist Faculty Position
The Photography & Media Program of the School of Art at CalArts opened a visiting artist position - a one-year fulltime teaching position to be filled from September 2007 through May 2008. MFA or equivalent required.
Applicants must have significant exhibition record and/ or related professional activities and at least three years of college level teaching beyond graduate school. Candidates should be well versed in contemporary art with an emphasis in photography and contemporary media strategies. Courses focus on theory and practice. Candidate must be able to address a range of media, all levels of practice, and have experience teaching one or more of the following classes: Photography, Video, Internet Image and Information Practice, Video History, Photography History, Network Culture (issues in contemporary media culture). Responsibilities include two courses per semester, supervision of independent study projects, participation in student reviews, and advising at undergraduate and graduate level.
