Malmö Konsthall Seeks New Director

The Malmö Culture Committee, responsible for the city's overall planning within the cultural sector, seeks a new director for Malmö Konsthall. The Culture Department is in charge of the operations of eight cultural institutions: Malmö City Library, Malmö Museer, Malmö Art Museum, Malmö Kulturmiljö, Malmö Kulturskola, Malmö Kulturstöd, Malmö City Archives and Malmö Konsthall.

Malmö Konsthall, one of Europe's largest exhibition spaces for contemporary art, arranges a number of exhibitions each year. Its unique building and quality-focused programme gives Malmö Konsthall a prominent profile and strength in relation to institutions in other countries, and places it among the foremost and most interesting art institutions of the region. Malmö Konsthall puts great emphasis on reaching out to the public and maintaining close contact with the artistic life of the region.

The museum is looking for a visionary with a broad network of Swedish and international contacts and good writing and leadership skills. Applicants must have in-depth documented knowledge of 19th and 20th-century art plus solid experience of exhibition work.

Applications should be sent by e-mail to kulturkansli@malmo.se by 17 August 2007.
