Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Arts Administration

The Meadows School of the Arts at SMU seeks an arts law professor to join a dynamic faculty in a graduate MA/MBA Arts Administration programme in the Fall 2010. Essential are creative energy, intellectual strength, and a deep understanding of the legal forces that shape the arts. Candidates from all backgrounds are welcome.

The candidate selected will be expected to be a significant partner in connecting the division to an increasingly diverse and globally-connected community at the university and in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. The position is a tenure track Assistant Professor. J.D. required, a record of successful teaching at the graduate level is highly recommended. The successful candidate will have professional and/or teaching experience in Art and Cultural Property Law as well as the ability to teach in at least two of the following legal areas: Copyright, trademark, and patents; IP Licensing; Rights clearance and fair use; Contract drafting, review, and negotiation; Dispute resolution and litigation; Nonprofit formation and tax exemption; Rights of privacy and publicity; International law. Salary commensurates with experience, full benefits package.
