University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) calls for applications to its New Media Arts MFA programme for Fall 2011. Application deadline is 1 February 2011. UIC's New Media Art programme offers a dynamic, urban-based MFA experience within a research university setting. The School of Art and Design is home to a distinguished faculty actively engaged in professional creative practice.
The two-year New Media Arts MFA programme offers interdisciplinary curriculum where leading practitioners in the arts and computer sciences come together to work with students on developing aesthetic and critical perspectives in emergent technologies. Graduate seminar courses address topics ranging from newly evolving issues within contemporary arts to the history and theory of New Media Arts.
The MFA degree in New Media Arts qualifies for a variety of career paths, including university-level teaching, independent studio arts practice, and industry-oriented research and development.
