MaHKU Master of Arts Programs in Visual Art and Design
The Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU) / Utrecht Graduate School of Visual Art and Design (MaHKU), The Netherlands, offers one-year Master of Arts programmes in visual art and design. The programmes consist of seminars, workshops, studios, and tutorials where artists, architects, communication design professionals, curators, editorial designers, fashion designers, interior designers, public space designers, and various theorists share their knowledge, creativity, and professional insights with MaHKU students.
MaHKU programmes focus on - research-based art and design, individual research trajectories, context-responsiveness, expansion of professional and theoretical insights, novel fields of research, and interdisciplinarity. MaHKU Master of Arts (MA) degrees are internationally acknowledged and accredited by the Open University Validation Services in London (OUVS).
MaHKU students come from all over the world. Their professional backgrounds are similarly diverse, including fields such as architecture, editorial design, fashion communication, graphic design, interior design, landscape architecture, product design, public space design, fine art, and urban design. During the year, interdisciplinary seminars and workshops offer ample opportunity for meeting fellow students in the MaHKU master programs. Each year, MaHKU develops a series of (public) activities focused on research and debate. These activities include DARE (Dutch Artistic Research Event) and MaHKUzine.
Application and admission deadline is 30 April 2013.
