MA in Art History, MAED in Art Education and an MFA in Studio Art
The Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design features an internationally active faculty and a rigorous curriculum that prepares students for professional careers in art and design. The Welch School offers an MA in Art History, an MAED in Art Education and an MFA in Studio Art with concentrations in Ceramics, Drawing and Painting, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture and Textiles. The school offers:
- full tuition waivers and stipends,
- third-year graduates exhibit at Aqua Art Miami, and
- teaching opportunities.
Graduate assistantships are available, including a stipend and a full tuition waiver. Winnie G. Chandler Fellowships and Welch Fellowships are competitive fellowships available for incoming graduate students. These fellowships fund students for the entire three years of study in addition to their regular stipend and full tuition waiver.
Georgia State University is located in downtown Atlanta. This urban campus provides access to prestigious art institutions such as the High Museum and The Atlanta Contemporary Arts Center, and a growing network of commercial galleries, alternative spaces and grassroot artist organizations.
The application deadline is 15 January 2014. Applicants must include an artist statement, portfolio of work, three letters of recommendation and official transcripts.
