MA in Critical and Curatorial Studies in Contemporary Arts
National Taipei University of Education
The National Taipei University of Education, Taiwan, announces the opening of its new MA in Critical and Curatorial Studies in Contemporary Arts, an intensive two-year taught-in-English programme providing students an opportunity to become familiar with discourses in contemporary art from various vantage points of the globe, especially from the Asia-Pacific region. The salient boom of the global arts and related industries have steadily grown in this century. The contemporary art field is amazingly prosperous due to an intensive operation among biennials, art museums, art fairs and art auctions, which led the spectacle of Asian art and attention from the whole world. In this fashion, Taiwan gains a hold of its key position in Asia and bridges a rigorous intellectual interaction and input of contemporary art with many of its neighbours.
A practical learning model will be applied with features as follow:
- a practical-oriented graduation requires the completion of internships and report/thesis writing;
- an extensive museum experience is delivered in conjunction with the important and pioneering art museums in Taiwan such as Taipei Fine Art Museum, Museum of National Taipei University of Education and Nan-Hai Gallery;
- an advanced Chinese learning resource is available on campus.
The deadline for application for fall 2017 is 30 April 2017.
