The annual special issue of Europa Nostra's European Cultural Heritage Review is dedicated to this year's laureates of the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards, which was launched at the European Heritage Awards Ceremony in Madrid on 27 June. This year, for the first tim a Poster on the Award Laureates was also launched. Laureates, in total thirty-four of them, mainly come from United kingdom but there are also valuable examples of high quality conservation projects from Spain, Ireland, France, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Croatia, Poland, Malta, Hungary, Sweden, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Portugal, Serbia, Switzerland and Turkey.
The European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards is the flagship programme of the Europa Nostra – the pan-European federation for cultural heritage - and the European Commission for recognizing best practices in the conservation of cultural heritage. It aims to promote high standards in conversation practice, to stimulate trans-boundary exchanges of knowledge and skills to stimulate further exemplary initiatives in the field. It thereby constitutes a key instrument for making visible the European Commission and Europa Nostra's work in favour of cultural heritage.
Europa Nostra's Annual Report 2005 brings valuable information on the organization's main activities, finances as well as on support by members and partners.
